Pop Culture
From its inception in 2014 to 2020 Lauren served as a staff writer for pop culture media platform Black Nerd Problems covering content such as anime, manga, games, TV shows, movies, cosplay, conventions, comics, and more. Other work can be found on AFROPUNK and Intelligame. In addition, Lauren has served as poetry editor for pop culture literary magazine FreezeRay Poetry since 2014. Lauren has also hosted and organized several “nerd poetry”-themed open mics and slams for events such as the Busboys and Poets open mics series, Brave New Voices, the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational, and the Individual World Poetry Slam.
